![]() ![]() The PS3 has been built so it can easily be taken apart. Why should i fork out £200 for a new PS3 slim when with the use of youtube you can learn how to fix it yourself. So you would rather pay £130 for a refurb from sony if your ps3 is out of warranty instead of learning how to take your PS3 apart and fix it yourself? Not everyone has deep pockets and through my experience of paying £500 for PS3 on release date, then paying for 2 refurbs (£130 each and only getting 3 month warranty on refurbs) im more than willing to run my 60gb PS3 into the ground, whether its temp fixing YLOD, Cleaning and/or replacing lens ill keep fixing it myself until it well and truly dies on me. Hell, I've never needed to clean it myself. ![]() You're not supposed to clean it yourself. Every single time without fail the discs register on PS3. Its been by far the best way of cleaning the PS3 lens. The Bluray lens cleaner has also been a huge waste of money as it makes completely no difference what-so-ever.īoiling hot water however works everytime. You would think that isopropyl alcohol would be the best compound for cleaning the lens however its been an absolute waste of money. Maxwell Bluray Lens Cleaner,wind funnel cleaning System ![]() Isopropyl alcohol and 2 Cotton buds, 1 for applying isopropyl alcohol with an anti-clockwise motion and the other a dry cotton bud to wipe up excess isopropyl alcoholīoiling hot water and 2 Cotton Buds, 1 for applying hot water with an anti-clockwise motion and the other a dry cotton bud to wipe up excess water Through trial and error i've come to the conclusion on what's the best way for cleaning the lens. Every now and then my PS3 stops reading discs due to the lens getting dirty. ![]()
